I'll be honest. When I first heard of Pinstripes and checked out the website, I really didn't know what I should expect. The first thing I remember thinking is, "Well, that food sure does look fancy, so it's probably a place that I need to dress up for, but then there's the fact that it's designed for people to have fun," so that left me wondering if perhaps the environment was a more laid back one. I also wondered if Pinstripes would be child-friendly. We played it safe and decided to go on a Sunday after church and to be even safer I had the talk with my children to be on their absolute best behavior.
After having the pleasure of actually experiencing the dining at Pinstripes, I think it's safe to say that you can dine and dress in whatever way makes you feel comfortable. You can dress up or down, but know that when the food starts arriving at your table, you're not going to be thinking about what you have on anyway.
Now let me share more with you on the dining side of Pinstripes. We were greeted and after a little waiting, we were taken to our table.
I couldn't help but notice the available seating outside, which I could imagine my husband and I enjoying on a nice day for one of our random date nights. If we hadn't brought all of the children along, this particular day would have been just perfect.
We were started out with warm breadsticks and a dip that complimented them just perfectly.
When the menus were handed out, I learned that Pinstripes is indeed child friendly. There's a menu for the adults, and one just for kids.
I was impressed at the generosity of the kids meals which include a drink, an entree, a breadstick and desert. The children's food selections looked delicious and my children enjoyed themselves.
As for us adults, we enjoyed ourselves also. There are several meal options and we had a difficult time deciding on what we wanted. This is also where I came to appreciate the wait staff. Our waiter was incredibly patient with us and gave us all the time we needed to decide on what we wanted to eat. I assumed he'd been notified that we were there to review the dining side of their restaurant due to his patience. I thought maybe he'd been perhaps instructed to be accommodating because we were there to review the place, but I found out once he brought the bill that he was obviously unaware of this fact. Anyway, we did finally decided on Chicken Parmesan for my husband, Ribs and Chicken for my mother and Braised Duck for myself.
I started off impressed at the way the food looks alone. Picture perfect and fresh. As you can see, the portions are generous as well. We then moved on to deserts. The children chose sundaes and one chose a root beer float.
We adults shared the Trio of Deserts. I really could not get a picture to justify the impressive, artistic setup that it was, but here's my best shot.
We really enjoyed dining at Pinstripes. We found the prices to be reasonable, it's kid friendly, the atmosphere is one of sophistication, you can feel comfortable whether you're dressed up or dressed down, the food is fresh and tastes good and the deserts that we finished with were a wonderful finish to it all. My husband and I have decided that we would like to add this to our places to go out on a date.
